Of course we WILL celebrate the New Year’s Eve!
- - - - - - -

Even if many of us are happy that this year is over, it gave us many bright moments.
Our NY’s eve line-up is based on those brightest of moments and people who impressed us the most.
So check out:

Dub:Ra - new hero on the stage, reminded us that most of all we like to get drunk with electro-pop sounds.. and seems we will do it more often next year.

Oleg Bombey - universal soldier who can save any party. Proved many times.

Ivars Zalkalns (Ze Ivarzz) - scene veteran. He was playing in our last NYE party and at the most parties with our guests - President Bongo, Swayzak, Dub Taylor to name a few. Ivars is also the mastermind behind TikTak Radio which was born in 2009.

Milkmagic - owner of some secret gender weapon. When he plays, 95% of dancers are females, who can actually dance. Now also part of S:G crew.

Gesta - generative flow of sounds of masculinity and intellect but with a smile on the face. : )

Greg Eversoul - California man temporarily living in Riga. Outstanding taste accompanied by outstanding skills. Musical storyteller.

Kodek - without any doubts and by all means the best electronic live artist LV ever produced. Will play special program under alias DEX[da]BASS.

Uppfade - we are happy and proud that there are producers who’s tracks become popular not only in Rigas rajons.

Grupa Svaigums - their dubstep is a perfect cure from alco-coma and is the must-be preparation in the NY’s eve first aid kit.

Pelmeshkin - the best party photographer and S:G chronicler. Thousands of historic photos will be shown on the big screen.

Mlada - during this year she made it from amateur to professional VJ.

Other NY extras:
- 360 panoramic fireworks view (starting from 23:00)
- party starting at 00:30
- welcome drink
- we will try our best to make it warmer than usual
- entrance - 4Ls. (3ls before 01:00 and after 08.00)

CHRISTMAS MIX FROM GOSH

dj snobo :: [after]live @ space garage 19.12.2009 by snobo

HOPE FOR FRIENDSHIP

Howdy-hoy boys n’ girls! Did you notice that this is the last week-end this year? We did! : ) So, if you wanna shake those gingerbread-tangerine-what not bellies back into shape, Space:Garage is the gym to come to!
We know exercises alone are boring, therefore this Friday, December the 25th we’ll add a little color to it. We proudly announce another new series of events called Technicolor!

Musical instructor Andrey Emelyanov himself will warm you up with deep techno massage. That will be smoothly transformed into heavier, a bit darker and more classical techno work-out carried out by Musique Unique. Forwards morning those durable ones will be shook out by our springy Milkmagic with his very special Morning Glory set.
Our visual minds - talented Mlada and Ostrovsky have prepared peculiar old-school moving wallpaper straight from silver ages of Technicolor - 50ies and 60ies for your eyeful.

And we don’t stop! Saturday, 26th of December at 22PM we celebrate sweet name of Victoria and give a tribute to her self-made lamp titled Hope - once smashed by our wonderfully crazy audience. Because Hope never dies and because we want you to go even butt-loco!

If this didn’t make any sense, our new found hero DJ Dub:ra will make you go bananas! Rumours are spreading that he’s a skilled mixer with a neat musical taste. His electro pop set will be continued by yet other local foreigners - Max Brannslokker and Katya Tyukova. Yes, they reside in Berlin now, so let’s show them what they are missing! Everybody knows what an up-lifter DJ Uppfade is and, yes we know it’s off the hook to let him play in the afterhours; so we did!

Let’s stretch and bounce for a colourful and extatic next year weehaa!

DUB:RA

Hello!
Music has always been our priority. Free from any genre limitations still we try to search for artists exploring new grounds of innovative mixing, original track selection and making it sound new, vital and qualitative. We search for those who are not afraid.. And thank you Lord they keep comin’ - new names, new tracks, new moods..
You all must remember Kris Crown whose inspiring performance at the recent President bongo’s visit and the truly marvellous Videmix 12 with no doubt moved us all.
The next big thing to look out for is the man that goes by alias Dub:ra. He has proven to be an artist with truly wide perception of contemporary electronica by producing and releasing several Dub’ish, IDM’ish tracks together with Salmz and releasing various style mixes of which we present in our opinion the most interesting one.
Boys and girls - it’s Dub:ra’s electro pop mix! And be absolutely sure you will hear him very soon in our cosy space apartments.
But till then let the music speak…

Saturday story:
Due to the tuff times, we have prepared a special antidote – musical therapy night in the cosy departments of Space:Garage. Patients will be kindly received this Saturday 19th of December during Home Radio’s fresh party series Disco Not Disco 1st event called Mental Disco. Our very own docs Contour and Wickiss happen to have their birthdays celebrated so don’t forget your party policy at home!

At the arrival upstairs, those shifty ones must surely follow the smell of slight kinkiness coming from the main dance-field. Now sterilized, you’ll get a proper groove injection from DJ’s Gosh, Home radio (a.k.a. Contour & Bombey) and our local foreigner DJ Heincha (Luxemburg). It’s not easy to formulate a man who plays everything from minimal techno to eclectic classic tracks… Anyway, he has done this for ages and his healing methods work always w/o an exception and no patients have complained, to say the least.

Meanwhile, be sure to smile to the cameras run by two anatomically correct nurses! They will be sending the video signals to the VJ-operator Wickiss who will mix the right stuff and inject it to the screen so you can see yourself and others scanned in dimensions never seen before.

Come and you shall be healed!

P.S. Remember that you can cure yourself with fresh Jager/vodka shot anytime you feel the urge!

Door: free till midnight, after - 2Ls

EVERYBODY COME TO PARTIES

TECHNO-BLANKET*5

If you’re in techno for real this Saturday, 12th of December, Space:Garage invites you to inspect and enjoy the neatest details of techno beats and sampling. This party will stand out among others for it will be dedicated to pure, so-called classical techno and its not that common edges and combos with such styles as trance and dubstep.

The party’s headliner will be our Northern neighbour - L-OW from Estonia. He’s the master of creating a very special atmosphere from blending specific rhythmical and sound combinations into a magical synthesis of sounds. His professional sound is recognized by such labels as Lowercase, Z-Audio and its sub-label On The Edge.

The man who stands behind this party, slash, DJ Gesta a.k.a. Gestapo has promised to perform in a more relaxed manner than one might expect (knowing him, it will still be a dope groover). He is about to blend smoothly a proper techno groove with a hint of trance inducing melodic undertones. There will be no focus on some particular scene or geography (although the artists are all European) instead Gesta is paying a tribute to the seemingly direct evolution of the classic techno sound.

The intriguing techno synthesis will be continued by Gesta’s label colleague Rimi. He is known for his ability to select the most uplifting of the classic techno tracks.

So, if you are longing for a sophisticated and quality rave-like atmosphere, the evening is about to make you groove like there’s no tomorrow!

++ More bass

+ with this weekend we also introduce the experimental way of 2-side flyers, as each evening require its own image. But will see, how practical it is and how long our designer will hold it.

SWAP-O-RAMA & NIGHT MARKET

Exclusively for this Friday, December the 11th Space:Garage will become Space:Cloakroom! This time you can leave your Gucci’s and Prada’s at home, because it will be all about exchanging clothes. If the word “swap” comes to your mind, you’ve guessed it correctly. Finally the globally recognized Swap-O-Rama will happen at Space:Garage. Just put on your funkiest and funniest things you don’t need anymore and dance until the special signal says to swap, that is exchange, them with any person near you.
In case you don’t have nothing swap-able at home, come anyway and buy things super cheeply at our second-hand market. Also you’ll be able to purchase the edgiest local designers’ stuff and coolest vintages at the night-market.
Of course, we haven’t forgot about the musical accompaniment. Our local ladies Nina “pop-mashina” Elektrichka and Ksenija Kamikaza will be escorted by an American gentleman Greg Eversoul from Sanfrancisco. Video from Mlada (sorry for not mentioning on the flyer).
Well.. sounds fun, huh!? We give our word – it will be one hell of a playful party experience! Any obstacles to that will be held back at the entrance by face-control.
We need you to come and swap and make it a night to remember!

Details about Saturday’s night will follow.
