OH YOUR GOD

Hi!
Firstly, yes of course we are oh so very sorry for those who suffered from the infamous WC dysfunction last weekend – Mario Bros were working all night collecting shrooms up and down the pipes but the almighty Mr. Frost won the battle. We promise to do everything we can to get those facilities working for this w-end, because:

On Friday, 29th of January..
The new improved TechnoSega party console V.6 is coming to your town! Get ready to be hypnotised by the strobe lights and blown away by the constantly surprising Ritmika’s techno warriors Rimi and Gesta with various shades of electro-techno musical spectrum. And be prepared for their bonus – a Lithuanian deeptech guerilla-comrade Infektion (a.k.a. FLSH/Vibranz) performing live! For an insight visit his soundcloud and for a little PR – his tracks have been included in the respected Mr. Laurent Garnier sets.
Actually, all these guys don’t ask for essays, it’s quite easy: Quality guaranteed!

Saturday, 30th of January the Cool we are going a bit old-school. As there really was a time when we were wearing our sunglasses at night and licked nicotine from silver screen, we let the sentiment take over us and realized we need a discotheque to party like its 1999. To have a proper trip back to those days we asked our good friends, DJs Bombey, Dub:ra and Stankoff to prepare retro electro sets. We are sure they won’t let us down and we are more than sure that our headliner will know how to bomb the bass original millennium style! Behold the Universal Human Underground, a.k.a. -=UHU=-. Yes, it’s our very successful Gatis Pastars from International Deejay Gigolos, Transient Force and Universal Human Underground records. Sounds fierce, right? Stay tight for the disco light!

SERIOUS SPACE-TIME

Hola! It’s Space:Garage’s b-w-end!
Put your neatest blouses and fanciest pants on, we gonna celebrate!
One year in this 6th floor mad house is a serious space-time! We had our ups and downs, surprises and disappointments but they all fit in the course of changes, which we praise. Together with friendship. Although we have lost some of friends, we have gained many new ones. Although some of DJ’s have made us wish we never have let them play at S:G, we have discovered for ourselves some amazing local talents, such as Gstp, Kodek, Dub:ra and many others.
We are very proud of having such great names as President Bongo, Dub Taylor, Barto, Jimmy Edgar and Swayzak being written on our posters. Still, our values stay the same – as much as we love music, we appreciate our friends – they make us proud as hell! In brief, that’s the way we will continue – float on our specific wave with hope that we’re enjoyed by the peeps whom all this is done for.

Friday, 22nd of January – Minanimal. Druzhba. Zhivachka.*
Now when Minanimal label is closer to S:G than S to G, we thought their regular party could fit this w-end just fine, just fine.. Same as we are, Minanimal is one hell of a friendly bunch so they warped with Home Radio to give you a night to not wanna leave early.
Our special guest – Markus Newton – manufactured in Hamburg, year 1972, managed to move us and mountains in his home Germany while staying true to underground. Starting with his own regular “Circle” club evenings in Hamburg, he then expanded into his own label “Salto Recordings” which has done releases for such artists as Laurine Frost, Maetrix and our very own Max Brannslokker.
Markus’s house/techno visions will be heated up and carried on by our always responsive friends Contour+Bombey from Home Radio, Minanimal’s Milkmagic and first of this year’s dread-locked surprises Moire with his “less rasta, more pump” set.
Let’s pump it up so that frost backs off!

That’s for the main course, now – the cake.
Saturday, 23rd of January, you are very welcome to our another regular – Ksenia Kamikaza’s Intelligent Debosch! While mistress’s set stays enigmatic, she has made sure we are entertained meanwhile.
A brutal mix of electro, breaks and cosmic melodies will be brought to you by the highly experienced Lithuanian brother Moon Disco. He has the joy of a vinyl release on Control Tower label and now will allow us to enjoy him performing live!
DJ Cute will keep up the smart brawl with a set so eclectic and unpredictable, that we can only guarantee that your melodic ears will like it. Moreover, the music will be accompanied by synchronous visuals of a very fresh and intriguing project CBETOMUSIC consisting of Le Zzz and Black Widower. Debosch on!

Teddy who? Teddy what? Teddy Touch

Hello!
First of all we want to compliment upon all the djs and artists performing here last weekend. From dubstep to house and all in between - no matter the style differences, every single one of you raised the bar of quality music! Thank you very much!

Now about this weekend.. check this out:

Friday, 15th of January - Röyksopp DJ’s set in Space:Garage!
We are going to raise the roof off for real!

As the party will mostly be dedicated to the music of our black bros and sises, DJ Ai-Va the very well known Riga’s club-heater will warm you up with a spanking hip-hop/funk cocktail while you enjoy yours.
Next, our regular space-man DJ Contour will take you to a slightly different orbit with classy mix of funk/electro/techno.
Now even the lamest Latvian will be heated up properly for our special guest – Teddy who? Teddy what? Teddy Touch. As we all probably didn’t know, he’s the man behind the turntables and shit at the gigs of very melodic Röyksopp and even had the honour to co-produce a track called “Eple”. Also, he’s been DJ-ing for such men of honour as Snoop Dogg, Nas, Redman, The Roots, at MTV parties and international festivals, and the dossier goes on and on. In short, he’s definitely the one to check out.
And right at the point when all you party animals will be sweating buckets, we’ll give you a fresh Jamaican breeze by the ladies of Crystral Sound System! Aren’t we sweet?

You don’t wanna miss this, dontcha! : )

2010 001

We are all in lockstep that New Year’s bash in Space:Garage had everything such a party must have: wonderful crowd, crazy atmosphere and uniquely bright DJs. It also proved that our audience enjoys almost every kind of quality music. So we promise to be more eclectic this year.

As genres, garage and dubstep go together as cow and milk. So, it seems quite organic to have regular dubstep parties in Space:Garage. This Friday’s party will be warmed up by another very surprising new talent we support, called Slovar. Although he plays dnb, we see a lot of common features in these styles and just wanted to give this guy a chance. Also, some people felt that it was not enough of our very dear Grupa Svaigums at NYE’s party, so they’ll play again! And guess what – that’s not all! Brain will give you some of his freshness with his special dub-ish set and the party will be concluded by Moire who for unknown reasons will be playing first time at S:G! Yaba-DUB-a-doo!

Saturday is THE day for house music. Actually, Saturday and house go together as hockey and beer, girls plus cars and S:G finding new local artists. Such as Gregfull – having a DJ dad, he was raised in local and neighbouring discos early learning to love the versatility of music. As Gregfull, our next guest Mixmaster Raitis also learned to groove almost before walking and undoubtedly will have some very special and harrowing musical messages to give you. Last, but not the least is our house veteran, Zazzy bringing, as always the best and deepest of house out there. Come on, let the sunshine in!
