Fuck For Friendship

Hello Friends!
As you know, days of Space:Garage are over. Official reason - status of the garage building (industrial facility) does not match what happening inside (public events). From one point of view its logical and its written in contract too. On the other hand, we got to know it only one week before the contract expires (as we know, this problem first appeared during Rigas Svetki events in last year’s august). If we would go trough all the procedures, to change the status of the building, it would take us about 3 months. And the main reason: building with the status of industrial facility has lower price and taxes, when privatisation process involved. That means, that SIA Jaunrigas Attistibas Uznemums, who’s goal is to privatise Andrejsala’s area (as far as we know, its still the property of Riga City) and who we are renting the Garage from, is very unlikely to allow the change of the status of the building.
Kind of a loop.
So that was very short information (but more to come) on whats going on. We havent put all our emotions in this, but rather just informed the people, cause in our opinion there is no such information anywhere. Also, all the facts are reflection of our impressions, and situation is not that easy, and we are not experts in high-profile real estate business, so if you going to use these facts for any kind of publication, please double-check the facts. Like, Fairmont aka Jake Fairley Live Gig this Friday.
For this we found a nice facility on the territory of ex-VEF factory.
There is a big Art exhibition is being opened on May. 09. and we are happy to be part of it.
The theme of the exhibition is Small New York in Small Riga. Ex-factory buildings are really reminding of New-York blocks somehow.. Quite a lot of artists are working on this territory for a long time already, but the real mastermind behind this is probably Kaspars Lielgalvis with his Totaldobze workshop.

Although past music activities on this territory are mostly associated with big raves, the place we found is a small, cosy house, with some nice little patio (we will post some photos soon). Well, thats kind of cool to do this sound exploration of Riga and travel around the city with various events, but still, that means also a lot of work for us - bringing the sound system and all the Space:Garage equipment, furniture and stuff and basically building a new Space:garage for a few days. So, forgive us any luck of fast information etc..
