Yaputhma Sound System. (1995-1997).
As it usually is with many good things, it was bright but short.
A company of young freaks somehow managed to write and perform interesting and way ahead-of-that-time muisc, which became a significant landmark for “now-30+” generation, won a few national awards (including Liepajas Dzintars 96), inspired young artists and left a kind of magic in hearts of those who witnessed.

That time (”Yaputhma time”?) was full of fresh things in Riga, My heart already filled with good memories/emotions.
and “Lonely” is such a good song, with such a good video.
bought my first Ya.So.Sy. tape in the shop called “Desants” I believe - Rigas Vilni. Still love that stuff as well as awesome performance in Liepaja.

So - mostly DJing, and not only “pryamaya noga” this time, expect some seriously broken beats too ;) However, one and only Choop AC (now known as Evgeny Droomoff) will play deep ambient/experimental sound design set live. See ya!

Well, those were the good times and YaSoSy was definetely smth. more than an avarage band - more like an art-project, movement, happening… I also bought “Rīgas Viļņi” tape at Desants after I heard it on Krauklis’ radioshow. That’s a weird, spaced-out yet very unique record - gotta find that tape and make a digital copy perhaps.
Regarding their live gigs, somehow the one at a factory on Pētersalas str. has stuck on my mind. And thanks Gosh for keeping the records!
