Hey guys, this Friday we re expecting legendary dj New.com in Space:Garage!

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome – dj new.com (comfortnoise, p45), all the way from Switzerland!
A man of exceptional taste, deep understanding of dance music and knowledge of its roots, superb mixing skills and inexhaustible energy, taking into account his busy life as a researcher and a teacher at university… Who at the same time has been managing to deliver monthly 3 hour shows on p45 radio for almost 5 years (featuring various guests and his own mixing as well); additionally, has recorded and put online for free download more than 20 delicious “studio” mixes in various styles (so - in total - 50 free mixes for you!); booked dozens of world DJs and artists for local events in Switzerland; not speaking of countless DJ gigs of course.
Style-wise, new.com’s specialty is dub-inspired music in all its spectre – ranging from classic dub-techno and dub-house to dubstep in all its wide/wild variety and power (check for example July 2009, December 2008 or July 2008 podcasts on p45 radio or Dubdillon mix on comfortnoise.com to feel the diversity and deepness of modern dubstep vibe), and back to the roots dub/reggae both classic and new. Still, other blends of techno and house are not forgotten either.
Lately, new.com caught a UK Funky (UKF) virus which now seems to invigorate even further cross-pollination of straight- and broken-beat continuum of dance music from 125 up to 140 bpm – and this is what he is going to spin on October 30 in Space:Garage. In essence, UKF is just the same old house with afrobeat flavour, massive bass and propulsive percussion, which can range from stripped-down minimal to full vocal party style, in any case – very fun and danceable. Currently this stuff, very fashionable in UK, is almost never encountered on Riga dancefloors, so new.com’s set will be a rare opportunity to get your ass moving in a slightly different but happy & ecstatic way ;) .
Support from Snobo aka Gosh from Yaputhma & Oleg Bombey. But Elena Glazova will show a few short video films at the start of the night.
+ Saturday is Halloween mayhem. Here is the artists list for saturday’s fight: Kodek Live! (8-bit + Breacore), Drazza with Sober Up’n'Down and Space Contour with Disco-Minimal.

A bit disappointed after friday’s Snobo set. What’s wrong bro? Some tunes to remember in the beginning and then flat valley of beats and texts. Is it that article about dj’s opener made this?
La Fleur, I dont think its the best place for this kind of discussion. And your critiсism is a bit out of place. Yesterday’s party also had a lot of up and downs, but as a whole was really great - fun and unpredictable, like the friday’s night.
Maybe you had a low alco content in your blood?
I think this place might need a forum after all. As to La Fleur Du Soleil’s comment, I disagree. I haven’t listened to the whole set, but I think what I heard so far was rather appropriate dance music for friday’s night in space::garage!
I was actually surprised to see you leaving before DJ New.com arrived at the decks. BTW, I have recorded DJ New.com’s set and will publish it online soon.

Well, have to agreed with Bronislove about place and adress my question personally to Gosh. But still disagree with alco content: first of all I did some glasses of spirit that night. And second thing: I think Space:Garage serves music and alco is just addition to it.
@La Fleur Du Soleil: I dunno man… Whaddayamean by “flat valley”? I got it recorded, just relistened to it; definitely wouldn’t say it’s my best mix, but can’t say it was bad either, and definitely not “flat valley” - as the selection was quite diverse and quite uplifting in the 2nd half… What I can admit though that I indeed broke the rule addressed in THAT article and raised the temperature too hot in the very end (but I didn’t know that new.com will start with reserved minimal section instead of hot UKF from the start).
